Director + Founder

Brittney began dancing at age three in Nova Scotia, Canada, exploring a variety of styles. By thirteen, she embarked on intensive training after being accepted to the Banff summer dance intensive. She furthered her skills at prestigious programs like the Okanagan summer dance intensive in Kelowna, British Columbia, the Ailey summer dance intensive in New York City, and Point Park University’s summer dance intensive in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

Brittney holds an Associate’s Diploma from both the British Association of Teachers of Dancing (2009) and the Canadian Dance Teachers’ Association (2016). She has also earned multiple honors in jazz and tap from B.A.T.D., and completed the advanced ballet examination with The Royal Academy of Dance.

Her expertise spans jazz, tap, modern, ballet, contemporary, pointe, and hip-hop techniques. In 2014, she graduated cum laude from Point Park University with a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Dance. She has participated in dance festivals across North America, earning accolades such as Most Promising Dancer (Dance Abition), Candance Title Soloist (2010), and the Anna Trefry Reach for the Stars Scholarship.

At thirteen, Brittney performed in the 60th Anniversary Gala at the Banff Arts Centre and later, in 2012, was one of thirteen dancers selected to perform in the Martha Graham University Partners Showcase in New York City. Today, she is the Artistic Director at Element Dance Studio in Bedford and the Founder and Director of Elevate Summer Dance Intensive.

My Approach

“With every aspect of dance, I always prioritize maintaining a positive attitude. I believe this mindset is key to achieving goals both efficiently and effectively. Working with the youth here in the Maritimes is something I look forward to every day. After graduating from university and moving back home, I felt a strong drive to help educate and inspire the next generation of artists on the East Coast.

As an instructor and mentor, my goal is to instill confidence and pride in dancers through hard work in a safe and supportive environment. I believe that every dancer deserves the opportunity to feel nurtured as they grow as artists. It can be difficult to find an environment that is inspiring yet not overwhelming, so I created Elevate Summer Dance Programs to provide just that. Our environment is both welcoming and encouraging, while also challenging dancers to surpass their own expectations.”
