Held at Dalhousie University and The University of King's College in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Elevate Summer Dance Intensive will offer two and four week programs with the option to stay in residence on campus or commute from home as a day student.
The weekly curriculum includes a daily ballet class, and a daily modern technique class of either Horton and/or Graham–based modern. A distinct variety of supplementary techniques include jazz, body conditioning, improvisation and repertory. In order to give students the most effective and focused training, all students are evaluated individually and placed in the proper level in each technique and our Faculty and the Program's Director create a customized schedule for each student.
Students who participate in the four-week program will perform in the program-end showcase following their intensive to share their hard work and repertoire that they have learned.
4 Week Program: July 2nd, 2018 - July 27th, 2018
The schedule will consist of various dance classes Monday-Friday from 9:00am -12:00pm and 1:00pm - 3:00 pm. Rehearsals will be held from 3:00pm - 5:00pm for dancers attending the 4 week program (both day students and residential students). The rehearsals will be held to practice different works that the dancers will present at the end of the 4 week intensive. Daily focus will include ballet and a repertoire of other styles such as contemporary, modern, jazz, improv and conditioning.
Rooms being provided are double occupancy. The residential package includes buffet breakfast, lunch and dinner. If students are not residing on-campus, lunch will be included and we will eat as a group at 12:00pm each day. More Info
